A Guide to Sled Races

Sled Races
What are Sled Races? Sled Races are contests to see who can slide down the
mountain fastest and reach the goal first. The standard equipment is an inner
tube, but you can buy a sled if you life. Neither is faster or better than the
other. These races can be found on the top of Ski Hill, the mountain above Ski
Village. You do not win many coins from these races, but they're fun and these
skills will help improve your reflexes.

Controls
◄-- LEFT ARROW KEY
--► RIGHT ARROW KEY

They steer you left and right to avoid obstacles. There is no jump button
because it automatically jumps obstacles that can be jumped for you.

Obstacles
Not all of these things are obstacles, necessarily, but things you will encounter
during the Sled Race:

Snow Ramps
Logs
Rocks
Ice Pools

Snow Ramps
There are big ramps which cover the whole Sled Race lane and small ramps
which are on one side or the other. The big ramps cannot hurt you unless
there is a dent in them, in which case, avoid the dent. If you don't, you will
mess up and fall of your inner tube/sled. Then you'll slow down and your
opponent will take advantage of this. There are two types of small ramps;
the tall ones and the short ones. The tall ones are smaller versions of the
big ramps, exactly like them, only you don't jump as high when you jump
off of one. The flat ones are short bumps in the ground that usually follow
two and two. I haven't discovered anything they do yet.

Logs
There are two logs, log ramps and log jumps. Log ramps are logs covered in
snow, but most have dents in them, usually larger than ramp dents. Avoid
the dents and jump off the snowy bit of logs and you won't fall. Log jumps
however, the dents are the good things. The shorter bit of log you must jump
over, but you don't have to press any buttons to jump over it. It will jump
it for you.

Rocks
Rocks are easy to spot. They are black and covered with snow, but they
slow you down.

Ice Pools
Ice pools are long, narrow ponds. These will give you a brief speed boost.
Sled over one of them and boost ahead of a nearby opponent. Don't avoid
these, they are very helpful in winning.

Racing Tips
The lane goes by pretty quickly, so analyze your surroundings speedily but
carefully. Press left and right at the correct times and pay close attention,
and you're sure to win.

Don't buy the sled just because you think it might help you win. Likewise,
don't keep the inner tube because you think it's faster or better. Buy or
keep whatever you want because you like how it looks.

If you know you won't be able to reach a ramp or an ice pool, don't try to
get to it. Especially if there's an obstacle in the way.

Be a good sport. It's just a game. And if someone else is being a bad sport,
that doesn't give you any reason to be a bad sport as well.

I only get on certain Ice Pools cause if you don`t slide over fast enough on the other ones, you crash. That`s why I memorized the tracks! *wink wink*

Yeah, it doesn't give you a lot of money.
That's why I made the guide; to assure that when you do play, you get the most money possible.
