Ok, I haven't actually created an account yet - just taken the tour and read up on it. But I'm curious - can Penguins trade items with each other?

I didn't get my confirmation email, so i had to ask them to find out why, I even got them to resent the activation. :(

No. I don't think that Penguins can trade items. I signed up yesterday and been playing for a while.

No they can't. I'm a long sort-of time player even if I don't actually play all that much. :D

Interesting. Given how trade-focused VMK is in comparison, I wonder how theres such a big difference.

Ah well. Without trading, I'm not sure it has much interest for me, if any at all. No trades == no games I can run.

Hey... theres an interesting question too. Is the furniture interactive?

No activation code? I joined another site and I didn't get an activation code and I still don't have it!

You have to pay ACTUAL money to get furniture, so I don't know. And since DIsney now owns Club Penguin, trading may start happening soon.

I am confused here. Some people are saying "no" about trading in CP and some people are talking about "Confirmation E-Mails"...

Anyway, the answer (like everyone has said) is no you can not trade in Club Penguin.

You have to wait about a day. I joined with a Hot mail account and got it about a day later.

No they can't trade items. I really wish they could though. I've wanted the red guitar for so long, and it finally came back in this catalog!

i think its smart you can't trade or sell items. So you don't lose anything and it makes you want money so then you play games

Yes, but at the same time, it's very inconvenient that if you want a specific piece of furniture for your room, and it's no longer available, you have to wait until they re-release it.

Yes some furniture is interactive.

What furniture, and how does it interact?

I'm used to the VMK furniture, where we can run some pretty elaborate games with the various items. I just don't get the same feeling from the furniture so far.

i think its smart you can't trade or sell items. So you don't lose anything and it makes you want money so then you play games

Yeah, but its also fewer things to do. I can't give prizes or gifts to other penguins - just throw snowballs at them. Do people actually talk in this game? I wandered around for half an hour, and nobody said anything.

At least they say they re-release stuff. So people aren't constantly complaining that they traded all their stuff for something rare that comes back out.

Well... I've played for about an hour now. Cute. And clever in some ways... but I'm still not sold on it. It just doesn't seem like I can be as creative in it as I can with VMK - and thats what I'm comparing it to right now.

Well... we'll see... keep an eye out for Thepriz.

There is a big difference because Disney just bought Club penguin, it was not theirs before. See?

I think it would be very boring if we could trade items. Everyone would be like, do you wanna trade with me? that would be soooo boring.

I kinda agree with Niki2299.
If trading was inducted into CP, I'm sure it would turn into the chaos side of VMK. The fact is, trading brings economy. Economy brings prosperity. Prosperity brings poverty. Poverty brings greed and hunger.
I'm sure that scams will be abundant.

i noticed this too, and sometimes, people don't reply if you talk to them. i think part of the reason is that they have a safe-chat option, and some people can only say certain words or phrases.

Well, there's.. the stove, which u can change to make it have different stuff cooking etc.
Tables can be changed to where there's plates/pictures/food/etc. on them.
Most of the interaction isn't with furniture, but with the Public Places.

And personally. I think Disney kinda ruined club penguin. Prisoner, know how you said nobody was talking?
They've got a more strict chat system than vmk. You barely ever see people talk, except for "Hi." or the <3 sign which gets frequently used toward me. ><;

If i could make trading. It would be like this. Members can trade for member cloths and non- member cloths. And non- members can trade only non- member cloths for non- member closths. And you can only trade up to 9 things per trade.

Non-members can:
NOT buy virtual items.
Can still get virtual items, but they have to get them from:
Events such as partys.
Missions.
And they can STILL become a tour guide and a secret agen.
They can only buy a Red and a Blue puffle.

Members can:
Buy all virtual items.
Still get free items at events such as parties
And Missions.
Can become a secret agent
and or a tour guide.
Can buy any color of puffle.

Virtual furniture can be ineractive by doing:
The TV's can be turned on and you can put a TV show on.
There is torches and items that are lit with fire that blazes.
But basicly you get the piont...

No you cannot trade.

But I don't think they explained the whole member/non-member thing very well.(except for Puchisana)

You don't pay real money per item. You pay a small fee of $6 per month to upgrade igloos, buy furniture and clothing/wigs, open your igloo to the public, have a wider selection of pets, and have more server availability. Members can spend their coins on anything.

But non-members can do stuff too. They can play mini-games, buy pins and backgrounds, play with their maximum of 2 pets, dance at the dance club, have snowball fights, play in a band, visit igloo parties and what not. They can also wear free items available only during parties. Right now there is a Water Party which includes a free Shell Necklace and a free Ice Cream Apron. You can always get the tour guide hat and friendship bracelet though. There are at least 50 non-member items, plus at least 120 more collectible pins & backgrounds, even though there aren't many available at this moment. It is a very social game.

I only play Club Penguin, so I don't know how to compare it to any other Disney games. Even without paying for membership, you won't get bored. Some people play for two years and don't pay one red cent.

I hope you found my description to be helpful.
