For those of you who are new or haven't been around for very long, Bean Counters is a game that can be found in the Coffee Shop, 1st Floor. Now as for how the game works and what the objective is, there's an instructions guide in the game, so me telling you would have no point. If you have played a few times, have about 5-8 minutes, and want more in-depth instructions and game tips, then go ahead and read on. Also, if some things seem a little scattered, then keep on reading and it should eventually click together.

Some tips and facts:

1. Your penguin can only hold 5 bags of coffee beans on his back before he collapses to the ground, so be sure to watch out for that.

I didn't say be careful, you should use that limit to your advantage to stock up on as many points as you can before you must return to the red stacking platform.

Of course, that is only when you must evade large barrages of items (From heavy anvils to random flowerpots ) or if you have countless (And important) beanbags falling towards you. If you can easily make it back to the platform with no trouble, then go ahead and make constant trips to the red platform. You'll seldom find this ability in later levels, though.

2. Time your moves well, but don't be afraid to lose a few lives.

If two or more bags of beans are falling, try to learn how to catch them almost at the same time with one or two simple mouse movements. This allows you get to the red platfrom quickly and to get most of the bags falling towards you in one fell swoop.

Now of course, this is sometimes difficult in later levels, and will usually seem impossible to do so without losing a life or two. That's perfectly fine, and that's what those little penguin portraits with stars around them are for. You should do anything to get these, even if it means being squished right after getting them. It'll get you more time and the ability to get more beans if you get hit by something. If you don't get squashed, Hey, you got an extra life!

3. Be patient, but know when to be hasty.

If you have to wait that extra moment to get back to the red platfrom, so be it, the obsatcles won't go any faster. If you know you can sqeeze through a barrage, however, then go for it, because time literally is money.

Another thing that I know a lot of people think is that if they have a big stack of beans (Or any amount, really) they have to get rid of it all. This isn't true at all, maybe except for the first few levels, when you have almost no obstacles coming toward you.

It wastes time, you'll be amazed how many bags of beans you'll lose, and you'll find yourself losing many lives trying to do it in harder levels. Why? Because when there are many fish coming in, (They land in the spot right next to the platfrom) you'll be wasting a lot of time in one spot, getting you squashed. A lot. If you have a big stack of beans, try to drop off a few and then go fill up your max (Or close to it) again. If you can learn to do it well, you'll be getting so many beans to the platfrom you'll be absolutely shocked.

4. Aquire that "Sixth Sense" that we would in any game after playing for a while.

Of course, this takes maybe a few hours of practice, but it's worth it in the end if you plan to be rich. LOL.

After a while of playing, you'll find that you can learn when/what:

You can exactly pass underneath an item or over a fallen one
At what times you can squish through a row of falling items
An item's or beanbag's boudaries are and when and where they're going to fall or
When you can catch some extra bags at the last moments of the level to get plenty of extra points.

I'll let you figure it out, but

If you take a few minutes to measure this, it'll help in the long run.

5. Don't expect to become a "Bean Counter Prodigy" in a snap :p. It takes a while to get the hang of it.

Anyways, I know this is coming all of a sudden, and it can be done, but just a note: To do some of these things does take a bit of hand eye coordination and some good reflexes, as simple as the game may seem. :(

Just work at it, and you'll find it gets easier after a while.

As difficut as this all seems, when you get the hang of it, your reward will probably average 400 coins. In 4 minutes.

That'll probably come in handy when you want to get that new set of furniture you've been eyeballing!

Me posting this also further proves that I need a life. :D

Ways to get extra points:

You get points for catching a bean bag and putting a bean bag on the red platform.

You can waste your lives for extra points. When you're in a tight spot, get as many bags as you can. You can at least get points for getting the bags. And you can catch more bags for the platform. Which gives more points, up to 200 extra points.

More info:

Truck 1:
Catching a bag:2 pts
Putting a bag:3 pts

Truck 2:
Catching a bag:4 pts
Putting a bag:6 pts

Truck 3:
Catching a bag:6 pts
Putting a bag:9 pts

Truck 4:
Catching a bag:8 pts
Putting a bag:12 pts

Truck 5:
Catching a bag:10 pts
Putting a bag:15 points

Also when the truck leaves, put any bags you hold onto the platform for more points!

A way to get max points using this is: at the beginning of the level, put 4 bags on the platform. Then, keep on putting bags FIVE by FIVE.

Doing this, I get 515-540 coins
